Usage
When the block is installed, you can add it to any course page. By default, it will display the verse of the day in King James Version, but by clicking the edit button on any instance of a block, you can change the version which is displayed.

Installation
You install this just like any other Moodle block. Download the block from above, unzip it, and you'll get a folder called "verseoftheday". Copy/upload that to the "blocks" folder of your Moodle installation, then visit the "Notifications" page of your Moodle site to finish the installation. It should then be available using the "Add Block..." menu whenever you edit a course page.
Compatibility
I have only tested this on Moodle 1.9, but I imagine it will work on Moodle 1.8 and possibly some other versions of Moodle as well.
Bible Versions
At the moment, I have hard-coded the list of versions which you can select; it's a fairly small list, but I will hopefully increase it in the future. Here are the versions available at this time:
- Amplified Bible
- American Standard Version
- English Standard Version
- King James Version
- New American Standard Bible
- New International Version
Please note that the following versions are not available -- BibleGateway.com does not offer them for its "Verse of the Day" feature due to copyright or other reasons:
- New King James Version
- New Century Version
- The Message
- New Living Translation
